<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
In my <a href="https://learningchambers.blogspot.com/2019/06/engineering-ozobot-mazes.html" target="_blank">last ozobot blog post</a>, I discussed how my students plan and build their ozobot mazes. The next step in this project is to program the ozobot to navigate through their mazes. I have the students complete the programming in the classroom. I have my class setup using a station-rotation model, so they work on the maze programming as a small group station. I give them two class periods, which ends up being about an hour that they spend on the programming.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
We use <a href="https://ozoblockly.com/" target="_blank">ozoblockly</a> to program the ozobots. I have used ozoblockly mostly on chromebooks and iPads. It works great on either device but you need to make sure that your device has the brightness turned up all the way. The ozobot reads the color codes from the device's screen, so bright is what it needs.</div>

<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-FnHGZxkI2I8/XQ2NMZvJb7I/AAAAAAAASAA/lRetpntOEtY7UbkLImNN1_q0S-Zt3x2twCLcBGAs/s1600/TOP%2BCODING%2BWEBSITES%2BFOR%2BUPPER%2BELEMENTARY.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="350" data-original-width="575" height="388" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-FnHGZxkI2I8/XQ2NMZvJb7I/AAAAAAAASAA/lRetpntOEtY7UbkLImNN1_q0S-Zt3x2twCLcBGAs/s640/TOP%2BCODING%2BWEBSITES%2BFOR%2BUPPER%2BELEMENTARY.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
STEAM ... design thinking .... We've all heard about how it is important to implement both into our daily lessons. Most teachers are very aware of how it benefits our students but I think finding the right lessons and the TIME to implement them is a struggle. I also find that when it comes to these lessons, letting go of some control is also key. When it comes to design thinking challenges, the students need to be the drivers and you as the teacher need to be the facilitator.<br />
<br />
One of my favorite STEAM/design thinking lessons is my Engineering Ozobot Mazes project. I started it three years ago and each year I've been able to update and modify the lesson to make it even better.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-tSWc3rMqE00/XQ2V-PD6QCI/AAAAAAAASAM/PCZ3bTKCLhMhTJGngB4yerW2ueVfZe6QwCLcBGAs/s1600/Copy%2Bof%2Bplay%2Bcode%2Bmonkey.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1102" data-original-width="735" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-tSWc3rMqE00/XQ2V-PD6QCI/AAAAAAAASAM/PCZ3bTKCLhMhTJGngB4yerW2ueVfZe6QwCLcBGAs/s640/Copy%2Bof%2Bplay%2Bcode%2Bmonkey.png" width="426" /></a></div>
<br />
This project takes time, so I've split it up into five weeks. I have different students each day of the week, so technically it is only five class periods and about 30 minutes each class period. I've also done this project in four weeks, so it can be done in a shorter time frame.<br />
<br />
During the first week, I give my students a 10x10 poster square. We work together to draw the grid using rulers. I emphasize that it doesn't have to be perfect because most of it will be covered up by their materials. I do have some students that need extra support with this.<br />
<br />
Prior to starting this project, I ask for students to bring in supplies by posting it on my weekly newsletter. I also collect items myself. Here are some of our favorite materials to use.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-vWuaQvIOpb0/XQ98yTQCJgI/AAAAAAAASAs/ErGpEay_wvwAq0rZ2k7qENg9dovg7fn-wCLcBGAs/s1600/supplies%2Blist.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="960" data-original-width="960" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-vWuaQvIOpb0/XQ98yTQCJgI/AAAAAAAASAs/ErGpEay_wvwAq0rZ2k7qENg9dovg7fn-wCLcBGAs/s640/supplies%2Blist.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div>
Next, I allow my students to go "shopping" for the materials that they wish to use for their maze. I give each of my students a gallon sized Ziploc baggie and they go "shopping" for materials that they want to use. I have five larger classes, so I do give them a limit on the number of items that they can take. I do tell them that they can also use materials that they have at home. I just want to make sure that I send materials home with all my students, so that they all can be successful. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
The next step of the project, I have broken down into three weeks. I've also done this part in two weeks, so either one will work. You just need to find what works best for you and your class and what works one year might not work the next. I have my students complete the planning at school but I have them build their maze at home for homework. Here is the break down of the project.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-JzJIx9N-d_k/XRAwkLuN4wI/AAAAAAAASBU/U0gyH1ChoRMj-xBTNUMfXXjIhU-NY_ffQCLcBGAs/s1600/lesson%2Bbreakdown.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="960" data-original-width="960" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-JzJIx9N-d_k/XRAwkLuN4wI/AAAAAAAASBU/U0gyH1ChoRMj-xBTNUMfXXjIhU-NY_ffQCLcBGAs/s640/lesson%2Bbreakdown.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
The first week is all about planning. I encourage my students to take out all of their materials and lay them out on their 10 by 10 poster square. Then, they will draw it on their grid. I ask them to label the materials and fill out the maze key.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-jJVDVl3OmVE/XRAxxWxBV8I/AAAAAAAASBk/bNyj71RZu2I6JzxFhQlbklc96nacnEYjwCLcBGAs/s1600/planning%2Bsheet.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="517" data-original-width="757" height="436" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-jJVDVl3OmVE/XRAxxWxBV8I/AAAAAAAASBk/bNyj71RZu2I6JzxFhQlbklc96nacnEYjwCLcBGAs/s640/planning%2Bsheet.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I give my students two weeks at home to build their maze. I've also had them build them in class but I've learned that this works better as a home project. When they are finished with their mazes, they bring them back to school.</div>
<br />
The next part of this project is the programming. I love the programming part because the kids really have to think and problem solve to get their ozobot to travel all the way through their maze. I give them two weeks (30 minutes each week) to work on the programming. Some finish before that and some will need the whole time.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Integrating coding into the classroom can be a little intimidating at times .... but with the right websites and content, it can be very engaging for your students. I wanted to write this blog post to share my top favorite websites to use with my students. These websites are all FREE ... and they work great for students in grades 3-5. (*Note - The third website is free for the first 30 days and after the trial is over, it is a paid website.)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-7BRHRheJnB8/WnZAz4ZQ9FI/AAAAAAAARSw/nwyCPsDHiQwVb-XJtnqdhEsrmBmiXZ41gCLcBGAs/s1600/scratch%2Bpin.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1102" data-original-width="735" height="640" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-7BRHRheJnB8/WnZAz4ZQ9FI/AAAAAAAARSw/nwyCPsDHiQwVb-XJtnqdhEsrmBmiXZ41gCLcBGAs/s640/scratch%2Bpin.png" width="426" /></a></div>
<br />
Scratch is my classes' favorite coding website. It is a free website developed by the MIT Media Lab. It uses a block based coding language and it allows your students to create their own projects.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-v2iYBXBIlyw/WnZCUten2vI/AAAAAAAARS8/Pb7slOFbkLQDw3pXn4uETy0JXJ36QAZngCLcBGAs/s1600/scratch%2Bproject%2Bpage.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="588" data-original-width="1125" height="334" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-v2iYBXBIlyw/WnZCUten2vI/AAAAAAAARS8/Pb7slOFbkLQDw3pXn4uETy0JXJ36QAZngCLcBGAs/s640/scratch%2Bproject%2Bpage.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
You can setup a teacher account for free and then setup student accounts under your class. My students create scratch projects in my class often. This past week my students read an article from Newsela in a station and then they created a Scratch project retelling five important facts from the article. I also use it for enrichment in math.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-NU9tkygLFVA/WnZ_aK_8dTI/AAAAAAAARTI/KrwH_UVhjdgmIzevw19TLfNLi0DmrEoNgCLcBGAs/s1600/repl.it%2Bpin.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1102" data-original-width="735" height="640" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-NU9tkygLFVA/WnZ_aK_8dTI/AAAAAAAARTI/KrwH_UVhjdgmIzevw19TLfNLi0DmrEoNgCLcBGAs/s640/repl.it%2Bpin.png" width="426" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
If you are ready to really challenge your students when it comes to coding, I suggest introducing them to Python programming language. I use <a href="http://repl.it/">repl.it</a> with my students because it is web based and you can actually code with several different programming languages. I use it with both Python language and also Python Turtle Graphics. If your school district is a Google district, your students can log in with their Google information and save their work.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Zx-xUUesCtA/Wnc4vktzQ3I/AAAAAAAARTc/yh4iD-mtOwAec9Pn7RytFnn_ZXWv0yS8wCLcBGAs/s1600/repl.it.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="588" data-original-width="1101" height="340" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Zx-xUUesCtA/Wnc4vktzQ3I/AAAAAAAARTc/yh4iD-mtOwAec9Pn7RytFnn_ZXWv0yS8wCLcBGAs/s640/repl.it.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
My students really love to use Python Turtle Graphics to code different shapes. They create a design using different shapes and written lines of code. The possibilities are endless and would be great for any geometry lesson. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The last website that I recommend is <a href="http://www.playcodemonkey.com/" target="_blank">Code Monkey</a>. The students complete different challenges to help the monkey get his bananas back from the guerilla. The guerilla steals the monkey's bananas and the goal is to get them all back. The students are able to use logic, measurement and problem solving to help the monkey through each level. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The website has changed a little since last year. In the past, you were able to play the first 21 levels of challenges without having to create an account. Now, you have to sign up for a 30 day trial for your students. It is still a great website with clear instructions and step by step help for your students. It is a great way to incorportate writing lines of code in your classroom. </div>

I really enjoy integrating coding into my classroom and these three websites are my classes' favorites. Do you have any to add to this list? Leave me a comment and let me know. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I'm working on writing more detailed blog posts about each of the three websites that I mentioned above. Please look out for them in the near future. </div>

<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-cMjSu6EdjVw/WXkoUt3E68I/AAAAAAAAQiM/SP3ozzejdn8hbniyrA0q_VE0uDRDVJStgCLcBGAs/s1600/brainpop%2Bcoding%2Bmain%2Bpic.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="315" data-original-width="560" height="360" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-cMjSu6EdjVw/WXkoUt3E68I/AAAAAAAAQiM/SP3ozzejdn8hbniyrA0q_VE0uDRDVJStgCLcBGAs/s640/brainpop%2Bcoding%2Bmain%2Bpic.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
Coding in the classroom has definitely been huge in education lately but it is often a struggle to fit it all in. This summer I was super excited to learn that you can now code with Moby. I have used BrainPop in my classroom many many times and I can't wait to use the creative coding with my students. I am also excited to share more about how you can use BrainPop coding activities in your classroom.</div>
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ofyeZjDANxA/WYCnOtHbmKI/AAAAAAAAQjw/gynESv7KBfEQwurEJA_YrJTLpatFAiufACLcBGAs/s1600/brainpop%2Bcoding%2Bpinterest%2Bimage.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1102" data-original-width="735" height="400" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ofyeZjDANxA/WYCnOtHbmKI/AAAAAAAAQjw/gynESv7KBfEQwurEJA_YrJTLpatFAiufACLcBGAs/s400/brainpop%2Bcoding%2Bpinterest%2Bimage.png" width="266" /></a></div>
<br />
When you log into BrainPop, you will need to type in "creative coding" in the search bar. Right now, there are 40 topics that include coding activities. Some of the topics include ... seasons, division, cells, Martin Luther King Jr., dinosaurs and conflict resolution.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-0rFciK4CT4M/WYCbFUNZbxI/AAAAAAAAQjI/j_6_9W83xdoeQIv-hhWpNrwjRcjwXIwSQCLcBGAs/s1600/search%2Bpic.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="867" data-original-width="1600" height="346" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-0rFciK4CT4M/WYCbFUNZbxI/AAAAAAAAQjI/j_6_9W83xdoeQIv-hhWpNrwjRcjwXIwSQCLcBGAs/s640/search%2Bpic.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Including coding projects into your classroom instruction can sometimes be a struggle. I really think that BrainPop hit the nail on the head when they decided to include coding activities that are content based. These activities would be great for an extension, enrichment for your gifted learners or a closing activity after a unit.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Br6G0f4RTFs/WYCccIhiQRI/AAAAAAAAQjQ/vqE0P9Q6dIcuzZT1QibCOiklDAUwP6oNACLcBGAs/s1600/topics%2Bpic.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="799" data-original-width="1600" height="318" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Br6G0f4RTFs/WYCccIhiQRI/AAAAAAAAQjQ/vqE0P9Q6dIcuzZT1QibCOiklDAUwP6oNACLcBGAs/s640/topics%2Bpic.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Each topic includes all of the normal activities that you know and love but they now include a creative coding activity. You can use it as a closing activity or even start with the coding activity to have your students show what they know.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-QKTSJ72toXs/WYChTXMO3VI/AAAAAAAAQjc/Hg5Rj6GcnegnjRh3josruIGi2-F7SjdHQCLcBGAs/s1600/topic%2Bmain%2Bpage.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="775" data-original-width="1600" height="308" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-QKTSJ72toXs/WYChTXMO3VI/AAAAAAAAQjc/Hg5Rj6GcnegnjRh3josruIGi2-F7SjdHQCLcBGAs/s640/topic%2Bmain%2Bpage.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Each topic includes four different coding projects (stop motion animation, meme, doodle augmented reality and a newcast). The coding projects are very easy to follow and include detailed instructions for your students. The meme is my favorite but I will definitely be using all four in my classroom. I love giving students choice and I love that BrainPop is offering choice.<br />
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; display: none; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-0uEWQ0-sYPY/WXkoVCAATNI/AAAAAAAAQiQ/jdN-Ar64jL87MAPnUk0WZr22AgGcyelHwCLcBGAs/s1600/creative%2Bcoding%2Bpic%2B1.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="667" data-original-width="1445" height="147" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-0uEWQ0-sYPY/WXkoVCAATNI/AAAAAAAAQiQ/jdN-Ar64jL87MAPnUk0WZr22AgGcyelHwCLcBGAs/s320/creative%2Bcoding%2Bpic%2B1.png" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-j8pWA7mYb8w/WYCh6LJHhfI/AAAAAAAAQjg/ASbaJilPCm85N6S6CaU3Pu2ewCqOPYxvgCLcBGAs/s1600/coding%2Bprojects.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="819" data-original-width="1600" height="326" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-j8pWA7mYb8w/WYCh6LJHhfI/AAAAAAAAQjg/ASbaJilPCm85N6S6CaU3Pu2ewCqOPYxvgCLcBGAs/s640/coding%2Bprojects.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Another great feature is that you can print out planning paper for you students. This would be great to have them plan out their project before they actually create it. If you click on the "plan" button on the right side, it will take you to a planning sheet that you can print out.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-YdNHtayDZJY/WYDfPC6gmQI/AAAAAAAAQj8/NOivcWXiI3QukvZ31VFVumS9cN13X1nzACLcBGAs/s1600/project%2Bmain%2Bpage.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="866" data-original-width="1600" height="346" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-YdNHtayDZJY/WYDfPC6gmQI/AAAAAAAAQj8/NOivcWXiI3QukvZ31VFVumS9cN13X1nzACLcBGAs/s640/project%2Bmain%2Bpage.png" width="640" /></a></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Hi friends! Today I wanted to share my passion with you guys and hopefully inspire you to incorporate it into your classroom. My passion is definitely 21st-century learning and technology. I have really let my students drive the learning through student choice. I love providing my students with the inspiration and opportunities to explore and create through coding projects. I have had so many magic moments in my classroom this past year and I can't wait to share them with you guys. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Today I wanted to share how you can help your students create digital animated stories using <a href="http://scratch.mit.edu/">Scratch</a>.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-LGXn3m1qWL0/WCFEw8YqFqI/AAAAAAAAOyY/besbV-jBlpgrTHr16vouGKEdp60HW5vTACLcB/s1600/ee%2Bthen%2Band%2Bnow%2B3.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-LGXn3m1qWL0/WCFEw8YqFqI/AAAAAAAAOyY/besbV-jBlpgrTHr16vouGKEdp60HW5vTACLcB/s640/ee%2Bthen%2Band%2Bnow%2B3.png" width="426" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So your first question is probably ... WHAT IS SCRATCH? Scratch is a block style coding program that will allow your students to create their own interactive stories and games. There is a free online version of Scratch and also a free version that you can download onto your computer. You can find both versions <a href="http://scratch.mit.edu/">HERE</a>.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-UcbpE_U_gkY/WCFL9SqVBdI/AAAAAAAAOyo/kttXErxk4C8Hl7lUDSdL7E_semu6jhsFgCLcB/s1600/ee%2Bthen%2Band%2Bnow%2B4.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-UcbpE_U_gkY/WCFL9SqVBdI/AAAAAAAAOyo/kttXErxk4C8Hl7lUDSdL7E_semu6jhsFgCLcB/s640/ee%2Bthen%2Band%2Bnow%2B4.png" width="426" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I honestly did not know much about Scratch until a few years ago. I just dove into it and learned all that I know from trying different things and watching a ton of tutorial videos. But trust me friends ... your kids will pick it up quickly and they will be motivated and inspired to create new stories.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Still unsure ... don't worry ... I've got you covered! I created a short video tutorial that you can show your students. The video will teach them how to create a short animated story in Scratch. They can watch it and re-watch it until they feel comfortable or you can watch it and then teach them. I have more tutorial videos coming soon.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
This past school year was my first year as a full-time technology teacher but I know the struggle is real when trying to integrate technology. Time is tight and it can be a hassle at times to fit it all in! However, the best part of technology is that it is super engaging and can enhance ANY lesson. Today I want to share with you guys how to integrate coding into a math geometry lesson. My third, fourth and fifth graders LOVED this lesson! I even created a video lesson for you to share with your class!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-9ViDyTLvYHI/WM1XP0GcD5I/AAAAAAAAP0I/SbiHSZ5o3wsOVZ4lHNSyfZFe8HIQCCjcwCLcB/s1600/shapes%2Bin%2Bscratch.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-9ViDyTLvYHI/WM1XP0GcD5I/AAAAAAAAP0I/SbiHSZ5o3wsOVZ4lHNSyfZFe8HIQCCjcwCLcB/s640/shapes%2Bin%2Bscratch.png" width="426" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I created this lesson as an enrichment lesson to get students practicing angles, coordinates and geometry. I decided to focus on squares and rectangles and then challenge my students to create other shapes on their own. Here is the video lesson that you can share with your students.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
I also created a Spirograph lesson that is the follow-up to this lesson. My students were super creative and created some awesome Spirograph designs using shapes and angles. I will definitely create a video of that for you guys in the near future.<br />
<br />

One of the things that I have really worked on is implementing student-led learning in my classroom. It is definitely an area that I am constantly reflecting on because I definitely see a lot of growth from my students when they lead the learning. It also helps make learning relevant to students.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-zCgIsXzR9cw/WOrdqZhLmUI/AAAAAAAAP2M/8YIU8t2AwIUeXP58nfeu8cpE4GEFcLTaQCLcB/s1600/ozobot%2Bpart%2B3.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-zCgIsXzR9cw/WOrdqZhLmUI/AAAAAAAAP2M/8YIU8t2AwIUeXP58nfeu8cpE4GEFcLTaQCLcB/s640/ozobot%2Bpart%2B3.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
One of my favorite student-led learning opportunities is the design challenge. The only supplies that I gave my students were cardboard pieces, masking tape and poster board (11x11). I learned the hard way that the best thing is to cut the cardboard into strips. The students were able to cut the strips into smaller pieces for their maze. If you give them a box to cut, it will be a disaster. Just warning you now!</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-CQDbPZxGkzg/WIAiTHaXWjI/AAAAAAAAPuY/1x6rzf_xP5Qyj_perYC7-9d7oW1kdX9CgCLcB/s1600/ee%2Bstudent-led%2Blearning%2Bmaze.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-CQDbPZxGkzg/WIAiTHaXWjI/AAAAAAAAPuY/1x6rzf_xP5Qyj_perYC7-9d7oW1kdX9CgCLcB/s640/ee%2Bstudent-led%2Blearning%2Bmaze.png" width="426" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
My students worked with measurement during this design challenge. They used rulers to make one inch marks to draw out a design grid. They also used protractors to measure angles. They also really got a chance to use critical thinking because we had to make sure that we designed a path that was wide enough to fit our ozobots.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-9cJnLs1gHkM/WIAktu6o2SI/AAAAAAAAPuk/5vt-ETM7q3wyR_X_LFkTL_l5mlo3_P49ACLcB/s1600/ee%2Bstudent%2Bled%2Blearning%2B3.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-9cJnLs1gHkM/WIAktu6o2SI/AAAAAAAAPuk/5vt-ETM7q3wyR_X_LFkTL_l5mlo3_P49ACLcB/s640/ee%2Bstudent%2Bled%2Blearning%2B3.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
After the design challenge, we worked on programming our ozobots to travel through our mazes. It was a great way to make our design challenge relevant.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I hope that you are able to implement student-led learning in your classroom. I would love to hear about your experiences.</div>

<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
My students were learning about x and y coordinates and the four quadrants. I decided to have them complete an ozobot challenge centered around that. I gave the students a piece of grid paper and a checklist. The students had to find the point of origin and then label the x and y coordinates. </div>

<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both;">
As part of the challenge, they had to determine the starting part or where their ozobot would start. Then we used ozoblockly to program our ozobot to complete "tricks" inside of the grid. The challenge was to make sure that our ozobot stayed inside the grid. It was a challenge but a fun one!</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Have you seen these tiny little robots that have been all over Facebook and Instagram? I have shared about them a few times and I have had a <b>ton</b> of questions about them. Well...these tiny robots are called <a href="http://ozobot.com/" target="_blank">ozobots</a> and they are a great way to get your kids excited about coding.<br />
<br />
I've been asked ... "How do you incorporate ozobots into your classroom schedule?" I have found that ozobots are a great way to incorporate STEM challenges during my lessons. I decided to start a blog series to show you a few different ways that you can integrate ozobots into your classroom.<br />
<br />
Here is how I used ozobots in my math lesson to help my students learn and review different angles and measurement.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-cxsQX0SSgPk/V_GOYHpwDNI/AAAAAAAAORM/1St6SpFpfaE_Nl3v9FGgTx6Izc4-XlFWwCLcB/s1600/ozobot%2Bstorage.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-cxsQX0SSgPk/V_GOYHpwDNI/AAAAAAAAORM/1St6SpFpfaE_Nl3v9FGgTx6Izc4-XlFWwCLcB/s640/ozobot%2Bstorage.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Ozobots can be programmed using markers and also by using ozoblockly, which is a block based coding language that is similar to that used in <a href="https://scratch.mit.edu/" target="_blank">Scratch</a>.<br />
<br />
Since my students had never used ozobots before, I decided to start by giving them time to explore with them. I shared how to calibrate them using the black dot and I also shared how to use the markers to draw a track for them. I partnered the kids up and gave them a piece of white poster board (cut in 1/2) for them to draw a track on. Then I let them go explore!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-NvQWUI-kYII/V_GPNwHGIrI/AAAAAAAAORU/SK39QxHJybQMUpFk9vf2zNQwt1Dl7k8OgCLcB/s1600/ozobot%2Bsetup.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-NvQWUI-kYII/V_GPNwHGIrI/AAAAAAAAORU/SK39QxHJybQMUpFk9vf2zNQwt1Dl7k8OgCLcB/s640/ozobot%2Bsetup.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Some of my kids drew a track and some decided to create an ozobot race. It was so much fun to see all of the different things that they created for the ozobots. During the exploring time, I walked around and talked to the students to see what they were able to create. It was very helpful to have time for them to explore on their own too.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-UFSzT5aO9bY/V_GYDIPldnI/AAAAAAAAORk/ghGqfbMauRQScGym1goSI68zbN78Al5VwCLcB/s1600/ozobot%2Bpin.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-UFSzT5aO9bY/V_GYDIPldnI/AAAAAAAAORk/ghGqfbMauRQScGym1goSI68zbN78Al5VwCLcB/s640/ozobot%2Bpin.png" width="426" /></a></div>
<br />
After the exploration time and my math lesson on angles, I gave my students the rules for our STEM challenge. I wrote down the rules on an anchor chart for them to refer back to.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-d7W-sXrOq_U/V_GNLYPOaDI/AAAAAAAAORA/UBVjeeV-S6ct_2cko8AZV7dXrXCeRNVwACLcB/s1600/ozobot%2Banchor%2Bchart.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-d7W-sXrOq_U/V_GNLYPOaDI/AAAAAAAAORA/UBVjeeV-S6ct_2cko8AZV7dXrXCeRNVwACLcB/s640/ozobot%2Banchor%2Bchart.png" width="478" /></a></div>
<br />
I gave each table a big piece of white paper, markers, a protractor, and an ozobot to program. I encouraged my students to plan out their track first by using pencil and then to trace it with the markers. It worked really well. The students were able to create their angles and then they were able to connect the angles to make their track. Their favorite part was adding the color codes to make their track a little more interesting. Turbo and backwalk were their favorites!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-0EOfhn1JLhc/XSiyJBBchqI/AAAAAAAASFI/xPU5Ejlbnqs1Vsaf0HZKAcE_Ouv1ALSZgCLcBGAs/s1600/ozobot%2Breview%2Bpin.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1102" data-original-width="735" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-0EOfhn1JLhc/XSiyJBBchqI/AAAAAAAASFI/xPU5Ejlbnqs1Vsaf0HZKAcE_Ouv1ALSZgCLcBGAs/s640/ozobot%2Breview%2Bpin.png" width="426" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
This was a great lesson to help my kids review angles and also to program those angles for their ozobot to follow. It also helped build teamwork, problem solving, and persistence. My kids had a blast too.<br />
<br />

<br />
Word problems...as a teacher you love to hate them but you also know that they are a necessary part of your math classroom. In second grade, we are consistently working on word problems all year long. I love watching my students become problem solvers! I wanted to share a few simple tips and strategies with you guys that have worked in my classroom.<br />
<br />
<u><b>1) Use sentence frames to help your students think through word problems...</b></u><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-pt_U4CP2Gao/V5Kc9TpdymI/AAAAAAAAMvw/XisG3-4aDGAnuaz3POQ3a1w2ABFf1G4KgCLcB/s1600/work%2Bon%2Bword%2Bproblems%2Bsentence%2Bstems.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="536" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-pt_U4CP2Gao/V5Kc9TpdymI/AAAAAAAAMvw/XisG3-4aDGAnuaz3POQ3a1w2ABFf1G4KgCLcB/s640/work%2Bon%2Bword%2Bproblems%2Bsentence%2Bstems.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
As a former Dual Language teacher, I totally understand the benefits of using sentence frames. Yes, even in second grade!<br />
<br />
I used two different sentence frames each time we solved a word problem together...<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>"I know _____________."</b> and <b>"I need to know _____________."</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
When we discussed <u>what we know</u>, we talked about what the word problem <b>tells us.</b> We circled this and wrote out the sentence frame.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
When we discussed <u>what we need to know</u>, we talked about what we need to solve the <b>question the word problem is asking us. </b>We also circled the question and wrote out the sentence frame.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Both of these sentence frames really helped my students make a plan to help solve the word problem. After awhile, my students are able to do this independently. I leave the sentence frame cards up on our math wall as a reminder.</div>
<br />
<b><u>2) Have your students write their own word problems...</u></b><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-QgjOHbmwwm8/VxUlrzXLj-I/AAAAAAAAIaY/S_xYJAUjJAcCyiwwybHlyfUzOCVm-KIkgCLcB/s1600/work%2Bon%2Bword%2Bproblems%2B2.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="536" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-QgjOHbmwwm8/VxUlrzXLj-I/AAAAAAAAIaY/S_xYJAUjJAcCyiwwybHlyfUzOCVm-KIkgCLcB/s640/work%2Bon%2Bword%2Bproblems%2B2.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I really love moving up Bloom's Taxonomy while we are working on word problems. One thing that I do every year with my second graders is to have them write their own word problems. Of course, we consume <b>lots</b> and <b>lots</b> of examples of word problems before we do this. My students and I look at the different parts of word problems and we discuss what each word problem needs to have. After we have consumed tons of word problems, my students are ready to write their own.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-N1Eere81m68/V5KpeoNnFsI/AAAAAAAAMwA/uO_4FuY5Zbo5OfLaVbbA6AL2IrsJgs77QCLcB/s1600/word%2Bproblem%2Bindex%2Bcards.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-N1Eere81m68/V5KpeoNnFsI/AAAAAAAAMwA/uO_4FuY5Zbo5OfLaVbbA6AL2IrsJgs77QCLcB/s640/word%2Bproblem%2Bindex%2Bcards.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
In order to write our own word problems, I give each partner pair 4 index cards. On one index card, they write a name (you can tell that my class last year was OBSESSED with all things soccer), then they write a thing (we stuck with toys but you can have them write anything, and then they write a number on the two remaining index cards.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-8xchhRbf6YU/V5KutFo5VyI/AAAAAAAAMwQ/o0lkk-LiUC0QciCkUl9h8y9j8UFkqW75ACLcB/s1600/final%2B%252838%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-8xchhRbf6YU/V5KutFo5VyI/AAAAAAAAMwQ/o0lkk-LiUC0QciCkUl9h8y9j8UFkqW75ACLcB/s640/final%2B%252838%2529.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
The students stick their cards in the corresponding paper bag and then we are ready to write our word problems. The kids draw one name, two numbers, and one toy with their partner. Then, they write their word problem in their journal. After we have finished writing our word problem, the students switch with their opposite table partners and they solve each others' word problems. They LOVE it. We also keep these and move them into a math center after we have practiced whole group several times.<br />
<br />
<b><u>3) Practice, Practice, Practice...</u></b><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Store/The-Learning-Chambers/Category/Word-Problem-Cards-135272" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" target="_blank"><img border="0" height="536" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-PULNgueOD4M/V5K7l513IjI/AAAAAAAAMww/zn5G2hWD1jEopdF4vH5hjnoAy7UXGS2egCLcB/s640/word%2Bproblems%2Bpractice.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
The best way to work on word problems is to have multiple word problems available for your students to solve and practice. I put these word problem cards in one of our math centers and my students work on them daily. I have them record their work in their math station journal. The cards are seasonal, so I have different cards to last for the whole year. It's a super easy to prep station!</div>

</div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
Hey y'all! I'm here today to share with you a super simple daily activity that I use to help my students practice telling time. I love having my students practice telling time consistently to build fluency. It does take practice and also a little motivation. Here is what I use to help my students practice telling time...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-lmFSLLYLv6M/VsacCr_xViI/AAAAAAAAHKA/okil6T2oXqg/s1600/main%2Bpin.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="602" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-lmFSLLYLv6M/VsacCr_xViI/AAAAAAAAHKA/okil6T2oXqg/s640/main%2Bpin.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Each day, I have a time written on the board in both analog and digital forms. I make sure that I pick a time that we are in the classroom. The first student to "politely" tell me that it's the magic time, gets a small reward. We have stamps in our school, so that is what I use with my students. Sometimes, the students miss the magic time and that is ok. I just keep the same magic time on the board, until someone correctly identifies the magic time. The kids LOVE it and I love that they are getting authentic practice telling time.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
What to try out magic time in your classroom? You can grab this <a href="https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3uIRrgwSu0VX2FJc3JDdFhDOFU/view?usp=sharing" target="_blank">free printable here</a>.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-1ZcwCOLrp5o/Vp8AAwCoo_I/AAAAAAAAGvc/WY9bI08fVwk/s1600/math%2Bstations%2Bheader.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-1ZcwCOLrp5o/Vp8AAwCoo_I/AAAAAAAAGvc/WY9bI08fVwk/s640/math%2Bstations%2Bheader.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Today I wanted to share a few of my go-to simple math stations for my second graders. They can be easily differentiated for your students and the best part is that they are low prep. That's right! I said, "low-prep" isn't that the best word for all of us tired teachers!<br />
<br />
<b><u>#1 - Velcro Number Line</u></b><br />
I don't know what it is about number lines, but my students always seem to struggle with ordering numbers on an open number line. I wanted to create an easy to use, giant, number line for my students to work with. One day when I picked up my kiddos from music class, I noticed that the music teacher had a giant music staff on her carpet. I totally had to ask how she did it! To my surprise, she had just used two strips of sticky back velcro and stuck both of the strips together.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-k0KGMp2bQp4/Vp8C9ERlODI/AAAAAAAAGv8/LqoV8uv8VhE/s1600/final%2B%25283%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-k0KGMp2bQp4/Vp8C9ERlODI/AAAAAAAAGv8/LqoV8uv8VhE/s640/final%2B%25283%2529.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Then, she velcroed the clingy part to the carpet. It sticks to the carpet perfectly y'all ... and it's easily moved to another spot in the room! No sticky residue left behind either! Genius!!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-KVuDDm4rT_A/Vp8DEwZzjuI/AAAAAAAAGwo/Ktoa2-Y9o8s/s1600/final%2B%25284%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-KVuDDm4rT_A/Vp8DEwZzjuI/AAAAAAAAGwo/Ktoa2-Y9o8s/s640/final%2B%25284%2529.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Then, I wrote numbers on index cards and placed a small strip of velcro to the back of each card. The kids take the cards and order them as part of a station. I also have cards with question marks to have them identify the missing numbers on an open number line. To differentiate, I have a variety of numbers for the students to choose from. They can work with 1-digit, 2-digit, or 3-digit numbers.<br />
<br />
<b><u>#2 - UNO Cards for Greater Than and Less Than</u></b><br />
<b><u><br /></u></b>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Vo-_qI-kP7I/Vp8BFlNAZ3I/AAAAAAAAGvo/9Rs1PArLBVo/s1600/sentence%2Bstrip%2Bstations.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Vo-_qI-kP7I/Vp8BFlNAZ3I/AAAAAAAAGvo/9Rs1PArLBVo/s640/sentence%2Bstrip%2Bstations.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<b><u><br /></u></b>
I love using sentence strip stations because they are easily differentiated. My students can choose to also use 2-digit and 3-digit numbers by building them with the Uno Cards. They play with a partner and one partner draws the first card and then the second partner draws the second card. They record their work in their math workstation journal and I do random quick checks through the week, to make sure they are completing their work. I also have sentence strips with just the > and < symbols.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-gu98gNEVnUw/Vp8BRB4qqVI/AAAAAAAAGvw/A2Kt7EwbgBA/s1600/journal%2Bwork.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-gu98gNEVnUw/Vp8BRB4qqVI/AAAAAAAAGvw/A2Kt7EwbgBA/s640/journal%2Bwork.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
<b><u>#3 - Roll and Show Place Value Game</u></b><br />
<b><u><br /></u></b>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-nYkTkDi17pQ/Vp8DDgtaEtI/AAAAAAAAGwg/K15B_2LELIs/s1600/final%2B%25285%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-nYkTkDi17pQ/Vp8DDgtaEtI/AAAAAAAAGwg/K15B_2LELIs/s640/final%2B%25285%2529.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
Roll and Show is another math partner game that can be easily differentiated. I also have another dice in the station, so that the kids can build 3-digit numbers. The kids roll the dice and then build the number using the base ten blocks. They record the number in their journal in standard form, word form, and expanded form. Super simple but great practice for a hard math concept.<br />
<br />
<br />
I hope you enjoyed these 3 super simple easy prep math stations! I would love to hear how they work in your class.<br />

Hey y'all! If you are anything like me, then your teaching resources wishlist is so so LONG! I'm always finding new resources that I want to purchase. The struggle can be so real!! Today, I want to make your teacher life easier by sharing with you three resources that will help with organization and your reading instruction. These three resources are a favorite amoung so many teachers and I can't wait to share them with you guys! Be sure to let me know which resource is a must have for you. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
I created this set of <a href="https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Google-Drive-Reading-Response-Journals-Story-Elements-Retelling-Predicting-1482661" target="_blank">flap journals</a> as a need arose in my classroom for my second graders to respond to more texts. I thought it would be fun to have a little journal for the books that they were reading. Since then, I have created more sets to fit in with author studies but the fiction one is still my favorite set because you can use it with any book. I also added a <a href="https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Google-Drive-Reading-Response-Journals-Story-Elements-Retelling-Predicting-1482661" target="_blank">Google Drive edition</a> that allows you to upload the flap journals into Google Classroom. It is such a time saver and allows for easy student responses to the texts that they are reading.<br />

I always struggled to find the balance between providing equal amounts of fiction and nonfiction texts. I noticed that we were reading more fiction books in my guided reading small groups and my students were begging me for more nonfiction reads. One of the first sets of nonfiction readers that I created for my students were these <a href="https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Arctic-Animals-Informational-Texts-Main-Idea-Comprehension-Questions-Facts-1596420" target="_blank">Arctic Animals informational texts</a>. These texts were a big interest and my second graders LOVED them. I also have a <a href="https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Arctic-Animals-Google-Drive-Close-Reads-2678054" target="_blank">Google Drive edition</a> of these texts and activities that you can upload to Google Classroom.<br />

This was one of the first products that I created and put in my store. I love being organized and transportation was where I needed help organizing. I'm always worried that a student will change transportation and I would accidentally send them home the wrong way. Is anyone else worried about this? When I introduced this <a href="https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Chevron-and-Chalkboard-Transportation-Labels-Editable-Classroom-Decor-764359" target="_blank">ribbon display</a>, my students and myself could easily unclip their name and move it if their transportation had changed for the day. This resources let's you easily manage dismisal and it can take away so much stress. Plus, <a href="https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Chevron-and-Chalkboard-Transportation-Labels-Editable-Classroom-Decor-764359" target="_blank">chevron and chalkboard</a> is still my fav!<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Hi friends! I'm so sorry that I'm so late to the blog hop party. My computer decided to stop working on Thursday night, right in the middle of me working on my blog post. My husband had to completely reimage my computer and it's taken me awhile to get everything together and back in working order. The good news is that my files were backed up and I only lost a few things. Anyways, thanks for being patient and understanding about the tardiness of my post. I hope my post is worth the wait!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
October is one of my favorite months! My favorite shows are just starting, pumpkin everything is back, and the weather is just starting to cool off here in Texas....well at least the mornings are cooler! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This month, I'm also sharing some tricks and treats with you guys for <a href="http://theelementaryentourage.blogspot.com/2015/10/tricks-and-treats-blog-hop.html" target="_blank">The Elementary Entourage's</a> Tricks and Treats blog hop.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-O8RmXPhvtt0/Vh7__qmNx2I/AAAAAAAAFdc/gZtJKSkNRJc/s1600/Tricks%2BHeader.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="311" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-O8RmXPhvtt0/Vh7__qmNx2I/AAAAAAAAFdc/gZtJKSkNRJc/s400/Tricks%2BHeader.png" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I also love the month of October because the students have learned the routines and I can focus more on small group instruction. This year, I'm really working on Math Workshop in my classroom. I want to make sure that I have math stations that help my students practice concepts that I've already taught. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-GP_4C_7PRwc/ViMDdQBj1eI/AAAAAAAAFlw/mt4xPK6aFZ4/s1600/sentence%2Bstrip%2Bstations.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-GP_4C_7PRwc/ViMDdQBj1eI/AAAAAAAAFlw/mt4xPK6aFZ4/s640/sentence%2Bstrip%2Bstations.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I love printable stations but there is just something about simple easy to prep stations. I love using sentence strip stations because they are easily differentiated. My students can choose to also use 2-digit and 3-digit numbers by building them with the Uno Cards. They play with a partner and one partner draws the first card and then the second partner draws the second card. They record their work in their math workstation journal and I do random quick checks through the week, to make sure they are completing their work.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-YS412yc2xT8/ViME81HvkLI/AAAAAAAAFl8/XfLRSw4iiIg/s1600/journal%2Bwork.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-YS412yc2xT8/ViME81HvkLI/AAAAAAAAFl8/XfLRSw4iiIg/s640/journal%2Bwork.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ilsoponQwOU/Vh7_-RSiEgI/AAAAAAAAFdQ/sGctQZTkiRY/s1600/Treats%2BHeader.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="310" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ilsoponQwOU/Vh7_-RSiEgI/AAAAAAAAFdQ/sGctQZTkiRY/s400/Treats%2BHeader.png" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Now, for a little treat from me! I absolutely hate spiders but the boys in my class are crazy about them. We have been working on locating facts in nonfiction texts and these were perfect for them.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-kGaU9stJZKs/ViMGx9u7A_I/AAAAAAAAFmI/tVt8ec9TOxE/s1600/spider%2Btext%2Bexample.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-kGaU9stJZKs/ViMGx9u7A_I/AAAAAAAAFmI/tVt8ec9TOxE/s640/spider%2Btext%2Bexample.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Hey y'all! Are you tired? I'm tired! But....I'm super super <b>SUPER</b> excited to bring you some ideas and a freebie for back to school. Make sure you read to the end of this post and then hop through the other Elementary Entourage members' blogs to grab some other ideas and freebies.<br />
<br />
Last week was my first week of school and I worked really hard to build a community with my new students. One of the things that my kids LOVED was playing snowball games. I decided to integrate some math facts and came up with this Addition Snowball game.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-_iwCS-aZl5g/VeUF-BQEjHI/AAAAAAAAFG0/zrdydz0KZmQ/s1600/snowball%2Bmath%2Bfacts.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-_iwCS-aZl5g/VeUF-BQEjHI/AAAAAAAAFG0/zrdydz0KZmQ/s640/snowball%2Bmath%2Bfacts.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
This is a super simple activity and super low-prep! All you need is notebook paper or white paper and markers. We folded our papers into fourths and then traced the lines. We worked in partners and the kids wrote an addition fact. Then they crumbled up their paper into a snowball and we tossed our snowballs into the center. After we tossed the snowballs, they grabbed another snowball to open. The kids answered the math fact and then wrote a new addition fact and repeated the steps. The different colors of markers really helped me quickly see who knows their math facts and who needs some small group support.<br />
<br />
Another thing that I can't wait to share with you guys is my writing center supply buckets! Aren't they super cute?!?! I LOVE new school supplies and labeling things!!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Today is my first day of school with students and I'm super excited to start off this school year with a bang! One of the things that I want to work on as a teacher is to work at staying refreshed throughout the school year. I'm super guilty of worrying and stressing myself out over nothing. I know I need to work on that.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So, I'm linking up with <a href="http://www.mrsdscorner.com/">Mrs. D's Corner</a> for her final Building Blocks of B2S to share my top four tips that I'm working on this year to help stay refreshed. I hope you'll work on these with me.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_6Up7CvCZUg/Vbj_DQj0hII/AAAAAAAAD6Y/FRN2JnV8q8s/s1600/Slide1.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="120" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_6Up7CvCZUg/Vbj_DQj0hII/AAAAAAAAD6Y/FRN2JnV8q8s/s320/Slide1.png" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>Find something that you LOVE to relieve the stress!</b> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Do you love to read or take long baths? You need to find something that helps you de-stress and stick with it. My de-stressing thing is Jazzercise. I go to the late class at 7:30 almost every evening. I would love to go to a morning class but since my school starts at 7:15, it's not possible for me.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-FjCownshyqs/VYHgGNxw2FI/AAAAAAAADDQ/BbnXYeb3HIY/s1600/35%2Bchallenge.jpg.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-FjCownshyqs/VYHgGNxw2FI/AAAAAAAADDQ/BbnXYeb3HIY/s640/35%2Bchallenge.jpg.png" width="638" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
A few of the reasons why I love Jazzercise is that I can punch and kick and the stress is gone. Plus, they have awesome music and fun challenges to help me stay motivated. Jazzercise really helps me keep the stress away! Make sure you find something that helps you keep the stress away!</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-SxLjzlMKFPw/Vbj_DoupBdI/AAAAAAAAD6c/DBV0ksZ9wfM/s1600/Slide2.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="120" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-SxLjzlMKFPw/Vbj_DoupBdI/AAAAAAAAD6c/DBV0ksZ9wfM/s320/Slide2.png" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>Leave work at work!</b> </div>
<br />
That's right, you read that right! I'm totally guilty of NOT doing that and it's caused a lot of extra stress and has taken away from time with my family. This is my tenth year of teaching and this is something that is a must for me this school year. I know that I'll have to shut my door at times and tell people that I'll have to talk later, but I'm going to have to do it. Both of my boys are growing so fast and I need to have nights and weekends to really spend time with them.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-iHFvVmvlFiE/Vbj_DQmFU9I/AAAAAAAAD6g/BCiuYEchxs8/s1600/Slide3.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="120" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-iHFvVmvlFiE/Vbj_DQmFU9I/AAAAAAAAD6g/BCiuYEchxs8/s320/Slide3.png" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>Stay late a few days but have a few days set to leave on time!</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
This is another thing that I struggle with but it's something that I need to follow through with. If I'm always at school late, I'm never going to be able to refresh. My goal is to stay late on Mondays and Wednesdays but to leave on time or shortly after the other three days. I can leave at 3:15 and I think before 3:45 would be great for those three days. My boys deserve that :).</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-hpqZRaRTEvU/Vbj_EvzxG1I/AAAAAAAAD6w/XTUEDH8Jr2k/s1600/Slide4.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="120" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-hpqZRaRTEvU/Vbj_EvzxG1I/AAAAAAAAD6w/XTUEDH8Jr2k/s320/Slide4.png" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>Make time for you!</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
As teachers, we often forget to make times for ourself. Spend time with friends, get a pedicure, go shopping, go to the movies with your husband or wife .... Make time for you and don't feel guilty about it!</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-fBpK3zMs-n4/Vb16giVWWDI/AAAAAAAAD_8/doPPzWNh5Wo/s1600/htx%2Bbloggers%2Bbowlers.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="346" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-fBpK3zMs-n4/Vb16giVWWDI/AAAAAAAAD_8/doPPzWNh5Wo/s400/htx%2Bbloggers%2Bbowlers.png" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I hope those tips help you stay refreshed this school year. This is my tenth year and I need to make it count and stay refreshed. I know it will help make me a better teacher for my students.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-TOi5qjjcMno/Vbj95JXOXQI/AAAAAAAAD5w/mVkCxwuS4oc/s1600/W3%2BHeader.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="364" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-TOi5qjjcMno/Vbj95JXOXQI/AAAAAAAAD5w/mVkCxwuS4oc/s640/W3%2BHeader.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Hey y'all. I'm busily preparing for my first day with students on Monday and getting some of my favorite first week of school activities ready. Luckily, that is the topic for this week's Building Blocks of B2S linky. I can't wait to share two activities that I do with my second graders each year.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-PwOkhjlOcWY/Vbj92q-_F2I/AAAAAAAAD5k/qdL4F9gNV4c/s1600/Slide1.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="120" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-PwOkhjlOcWY/Vbj92q-_F2I/AAAAAAAAD5k/qdL4F9gNV4c/s320/Slide1.png" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
It's never too early to build up your classroom community with your students. I have my students work collaboratively as much as possible. It helps me see who works well together and who needs a little nudge to work well with others.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-f4baxab5IOA/VdKm_A3IkKI/AAAAAAAAEoE/H38hK62_QJY/s1600/back%2Bto%2Bschool%2Bactivities%2Bblog%2Bpost.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-f4baxab5IOA/VdKm_A3IkKI/AAAAAAAAEoE/H38hK62_QJY/s640/back%2Bto%2Bschool%2Bactivities%2Bblog%2Bpost.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
One of the first collaborative activities that we do as a second grade class is to write our classroom contract. We spend lots of time consuming different read alouds that discuss working together. Here are two of our favorites.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-SRl90YNlpmw/VdKoMb-t3uI/AAAAAAAAEoQ/UD1hg7wNpp4/s1600/energy%2Bbus.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-SRl90YNlpmw/VdKoMb-t3uI/AAAAAAAAEoQ/UD1hg7wNpp4/s1600/energy%2Bbus.jpg" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The Energy Bus for Kids by Jon Gordon</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-BgIIBbrsSt0/VdKoO6K0Y3I/AAAAAAAAEoY/A4aYlg6ioRM/s1600/david%2Bgoes%2Bto%2Bschool.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="207" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-BgIIBbrsSt0/VdKoO6K0Y3I/AAAAAAAAEoY/A4aYlg6ioRM/s320/david%2Bgoes%2Bto%2Bschool.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
David Goes to School by David Shannon</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
After we finish reading these and a few others aloud, the students work in groups collaboratively to write down how they think our class should run. They write down their thoughts and then they share them out to the rest of the class. We pick our favorites and then we write our class contract together. We use positive language and sign it to say that we agree to follow our contract.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-m3iLZho3Tk4/Vbj93CsRPTI/AAAAAAAAD5s/dM4kPyIRE-k/s1600/Slide2.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="120" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-m3iLZho3Tk4/Vbj93CsRPTI/AAAAAAAAD5s/dM4kPyIRE-k/s320/Slide2.png" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Another important activity that I start during the first week of school is building my independent reading routine with my students. Independent reading time is crucial in second grade and it's important that I teach them to find "just right" books and help them build up their reading stamina.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-nVRRVEcCgco/VdKtES7Ge7I/AAAAAAAAEoo/IMuX9rC-VA0/s1600/library%2Bwith%2Banchor%2Bcharts.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-nVRRVEcCgco/VdKtES7Ge7I/AAAAAAAAEoo/IMuX9rC-VA0/s640/library%2Bwith%2Banchor%2Bcharts.png" width="398" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
We create reading anchor charts together and then we hang them in our class library. You can see our reading stamina anchor chart and "just right" books anchor chart. After we create an anchor chart, we find our "just right" book and a quiet spot to read to work on our reading stamina. We practice our independent reading routine every day. It really helps to work on the routine as early as possible!</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Back-to-School-Reading-Comprehension-Pack-1371007" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-QUEUIijLHOk/VdKu2vZxGCI/AAAAAAAAEo0/L3r1xMPEMoE/s640/comprehension%2Bpic%2B2.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
We also use this set of reading passages from my <a href="https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Back-to-School-Reading-Comprehension-Pack-1371007">Back to School comprehension pack</a>. They are great because the stories are differentiated and are great practice during our independent reading time.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I really love building community and routines during the first few weeks of school. I know it helps my students tremendously and helps us throughout the entire school year.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
What are some things that you do during the first few weeks of school? Leave me a comment and let me know!</div>

Hey y'all! I'm back to link up with <a href="http://www.mrsdscorner.com/2015/08/bbbuildingrelationships.html">Mrs. D's Corner for her Building Blocks of B2S linky</a>. This week is all about building relationships.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-zQZn-_ZJRiQ/Vbj9Rz4RPXI/AAAAAAAAD5Q/gCkA84b2jdI/s1600/W2%2BHeader.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="364" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-zQZn-_ZJRiQ/Vbj9Rz4RPXI/AAAAAAAAD5Q/gCkA84b2jdI/s640/W2%2BHeader.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I really do love the beginning of school because I love getting to know my new students. The first couple of weeks of school, I include several getting to know you and team building activities into my daily lesson plans. The students really enjoy them and I love learning about each of my new students.<br />
<br />
This year, I'm super excited to try these sticky note posters from <a href="http://www.confessionsofateachingjunkie.com/2012/08/the-best-first-day-ever.html">Confessions of a Teaching Junkie</a>. My students always LOVE writing on sticky notes! I've learned that sometimes they write more than they would share out loud. I know they will be the perfect way to get to know my students a little better.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.confessionsofateachingjunkie.com/2012/08/the-best-first-day-ever.html" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7uKhlwj-Sb8/VcrTH5GBkyI/AAAAAAAAEh8/46VyYv9Y_qQ/s640/b2s%2Banchor%2Bchart.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Another way that I build relationships with my students, is to involve them in our classroom contract. It's not just my classroom, it's OUR classroom and the students need to be involved in how it runs. We read books and discuss what should be included in our classroom contract. We come up with postive statements and then we all sign it.<br />
<br />
Lastly, I love hearing about my students' goals for the school year. We discuss what goals are then we draft out our goals. It is so much fun to hear about my students' goals! I also love helping them reach those goals. Here are some goals that my boys and I wrote down.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/--MhXNxb_hyE/VcrVBK_4jcI/AAAAAAAAEiI/Z6D53icatTU/s1600/goal%2Bwriting.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/--MhXNxb_hyE/VcrVBK_4jcI/AAAAAAAAEiI/Z6D53icatTU/s640/goal%2Bwriting.png" width="640" /></a></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-aJOZH6MHk64/Vbj8lEuKP6I/AAAAAAAAD5I/S3cQSaZd33w/s1600/W1%2BHeader.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="364" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-aJOZH6MHk64/Vbj8lEuKP6I/AAAAAAAAD5I/S3cQSaZd33w/s640/W1%2BHeader.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
I'm linking up with my friend Stephanie from <a href="http://www.mrsdscorner.blogspot.com/">Mrs.D's Corner</a> for her four week Building Blocks of B2S series. I'm very excited to share a little about my "Meet the Teacher" night with my second graders. Here are three tips that will help your meet the teacher run smoothly.</div>
<br /></div>
<b>Tip #1: Greet Them at the Door</b><br />
<br />
I love meeting my new students and parents at the door. I love shaking each of their hands and introducing myself. If I have a parent ask a lot of questions, I will tell them that I'll contact them after to schedule a meeting. I try to answer small questions, but I keep it short in order to make sure that I talk to all of the parents. I also remind them that we have a back to school night in a couple of weeks and I'll be able to answer questions in more depth then.<br />
<b><br /></b>
<b>Tip #2: Have a System Setup for a Stress-Free Event </b><br />
<b><br /></b>
I try to make sure that I a system setup for "Meet the Teacher". I want to meet my parents and students, figure out how they go home, have them drop off their school supplies, and check out the room. I set up a place to sign in, a place to look at tranportation, and I have their supply boxes ready to put their school supplies in. I also have boxes out for big supplies like construction paper, ziploc baggies, and tissue boxes.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-5S1G0yLeV8I/VXUR7tPS88I/AAAAAAAACzk/LRvkVqAAKMk/s1600/book%2Bboxes%2Bwith%2Blogo.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-5S1G0yLeV8I/VXUR7tPS88I/AAAAAAAACzk/LRvkVqAAKMk/s640/book%2Bboxes%2Bwith%2Blogo.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I've used <a href="https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Editable-Table-Signs-Chevron-688493">Reagan Tunstall's Editable Table Signs</a> for the last three years and they have really streamlined "Meet the Teacher" for me. The parents and students follow the numbers to complete tasks. It's like a fun game and it saves me a TON of time! If you haven't checked them out yet, you totally need too! Click on the cover to see them in Reagan's store.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Editable-Table-Signs-Chevron-688493"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-d_RS9MoKkWA/VcKF2NHslcI/AAAAAAAAEfA/i3BTr6XiKi4/s320/meet%2Bthe%2Bteacher%2Bsigns.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<b>Tip #3: Figure Out How They Go Home</b><br />
<b><br /></b>
I don't know about y'all but I'm <b>always</b> worried about dismissal on the first day of school. One of my main goals during my "Meet the Teacher" is to find out how my students go home. Right next to my sign in sheet, I have a sheet where the parents write how their child will go home. I also have a bus map and transportation name tags in a tub next to the transportation sheet. This will help save me time on the first day.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Lights-Polka-Dot-Transportation-Labels-Editable-789715" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="356" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-sdKOw7pHhO8/VcKALxfhhHI/AAAAAAAAEeg/I-A2bHA6Z7Q/s640/display.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
My <a href="https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Lights-Polka-Dot-Transportation-Labels-Editable-789715">"How Do We Go Home?"</a> labels also are a huge help. Not all of my students come to "Meet the Teacher" and I keep the labels and transportation sheet handy on the first day for parents to fill out as they drop off their children.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Lights-Polka-Dot-Transportation-Labels-Editable-789715" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Qw3MG8Bzv7Q/VcKARsKfJVI/AAAAAAAAEeo/Gw61WIFO6_8/s640/close%2Bup%2B2.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
It's also super easy for my students to move their label when their transportation changes. You can click on the cover below to check them out in my store.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Lights-Polka-Dot-Transportation-Labels-Editable-789715" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-8CQiqcDUxgk/VcKAVi0wM0I/AAAAAAAAEew/gLv4fc7evn0/s320/cover%2B8x8.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Bu4y4bVDqpA/Vb7h5owUIDI/AAAAAAAAEF8/nty6wpXfV5o/s1600/header%2Bphoto.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Bu4y4bVDqpA/Vb7h5owUIDI/AAAAAAAAEF8/nty6wpXfV5o/s640/header%2Bphoto.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I LOVE teaching writing using the writer's workshop model, but each year my students were really struggling with editing. I tried lots of different things! I even used some different anchor charts that I found on Pinterest. After awhile and some practice, I noticed a difference in my students editing. I'm very excited to share three of my top tips with you guys.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-CS3Sy5x-PCQ/Vb7lxvAZHhI/AAAAAAAAEG0/DfVUx6TG0eM/s1600/tip%2B1.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="270" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-CS3Sy5x-PCQ/Vb7lxvAZHhI/AAAAAAAAEG0/DfVUx6TG0eM/s640/tip%2B1.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I know that as teachers we hear this ALL the time but it's super true. If you want your students to be great at editing, you have to edit your own writing. Make mistakes and edit them in your own writing. I LOVE having super pretty anchor charts but you know what, <b>they don't help my students when it comes to editing</b>. Perfect writing doesn't happen, we have to edit our writing. I cross out often and then remake anchor charts...and you know what ... <b>IT'S OK</b> because I'm modeling the writing process to my students.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-wg17lfjwgZY/Vb7lqG_r9hI/AAAAAAAAEGs/Dycp7gOxh7E/s1600/tip%2B2.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="518" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-wg17lfjwgZY/Vb7lqG_r9hI/AAAAAAAAEGs/Dycp7gOxh7E/s640/tip%2B2.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>"I edited my writing, and I didn't find any mistakes!"</i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I hear that ALL the time y'all! Please tell me that I'm not alone! Bless my students' little hearts because finding mistakes in your own writing is super hard. That is why I have my students <b>partner up</b> when it comes to the editing stage in our writer's workshop model. They grab a partner that is also editing and each of them grab a colored pencil. They switch papers and edit their partner's writing. I teach them that they aren't allowed to have a pencil during the editing process because they will just erase and rewrite it. I want them to cross things out and know that it's ok to make mistakes. The best thing about colored pencils is that they can visually see the edits that their partner made in their writing.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/--5HIKmxhsMQ/Vb7ouHntJaI/AAAAAAAAEHU/9B6-TbpgQPY/s1600/tip%2B3.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="472" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/--5HIKmxhsMQ/Vb7ouHntJaI/AAAAAAAAEHU/9B6-TbpgQPY/s640/tip%2B3.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
My last tip for helping to teach editing is to have your students practice. At the end of last year, I would write a morning message and my students would edit it in their journal. It was super easy for them to edit during our morning routine and it gave them the practice that they needed.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
This summer, I started thinking ahead to the next school year and I decided that I wanted to create a stronger morning routine that helped my students get the extra editing practice that they needed. I came up with these <a href="https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Learning-To-Edit-August-1958938">daily editing paragraphs</a> that I'm super excited to try out with my students.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Learning-To-Edit-August-1958938" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-1Evq-0EmY-E/Vb7qNZBNUcI/AAAAAAAAEHs/KktW6txHvgw/s640/paper%2Band%2Brecording%2Bsheet.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I'm going to project the big cards onto my Activboard and have my students edit them in their writing journals. I'm also planning on putting the copies of the big cards in my writing center for the students to edit again for extra practice. If you laminate them, they can write on top of them with an expo marker or you can use the clear pockets like above.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Learning-To-Edit-August-1958938" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-H55s7-WCtE4/Vb7rN7umUZI/AAAAAAAAEH8/PeVtTxU5UA4/s640/big%2Bcards%2Bexample.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Big cards printed out for the kids to edit for extra practice.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Plus, how perfect would these recording sheets be to send home for homework. I love how not only do they have to edit the paragraph, but they have to answer questions about what they edited.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Learning-To-Edit-August-1958938" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-KoREjx5WwRo/Vb7sG7e6_RI/AAAAAAAAEII/RrACTPW_yb4/s640/recording%2Bsheets.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Click on the photo above to check out this learning to edit daily paragraph practice.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I hope these tips help your students with editing. Editing takes practice and if you model for your students, they will start to follow your lead. Happy editing!</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Good morning y'all! It's Friday ... that totally has a different meaning during the summer doesn't it?!?! Anyways...this fantastical Friday I'm linking up with <a href="http://www.thelittleladybugshop.com/2015/07/texas-size-link-up-superhero-teacher_30.html">The Little Ladybug Shop</a> and <a href="http://www.planethappysmiles.com/2015/07/texas-size-link-up-organization-tips.html">Planet Happy Smiles</a> for their Texas Size Link-Up. This week I'm sharing some organizational tips with you guys.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<u><b>Tip #1</b></u></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<u><br /></u></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Do you have to post your daily objectives every day? I do and I was so so tired of having to write the subject areas over and over again. I printed out these polka dot labels and then I laminated them. After they were cut out and ready to go, I attached magnets to the back and then placed them on my dry-erase board. Now, I have an area to write my objectives for each day.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Brights-Polka-Dot-Subject-Area-Labels-Freebie-820898" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-FnM2v7DCkAU/VbuhkZcc40I/AAAAAAAAD9A/VRCffEOVngQ/s640/subject%2Barea%2Bcards.png" width="480" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Click on the photo to grab these FREE labels.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<u><b>Tip #2</b></u></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I love math manipulatives but I NEED them to be organized. I do love the plastic sectioned containers that some teachers store their base ten blocks in but I decided to do something a little different. I just use ziploc baggies and when they get yucky looking, they are super easy to replace.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-C9BmjixFhFE/VbujLbW1HTI/AAAAAAAAD9M/2rkCHtJ7NvY/s1600/math%2Btubs%2Borganization.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-C9BmjixFhFE/VbujLbW1HTI/AAAAAAAAD9M/2rkCHtJ7NvY/s640/math%2Btubs%2Borganization.png" width="480" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
We store them in these green tubs that I got at 99 Cents Only Store. Do they have those anywhere else besides Houston? The kids have a number and at the beginning of math class, they can easily grab their math tub.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-hnTeL5ZFI40/VbukUbsTy1I/AAAAAAAAD9Y/L0j-YciV9Rs/s1600/math%2Bboxes.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="344" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-hnTeL5ZFI40/VbukUbsTy1I/AAAAAAAAD9Y/L0j-YciV9Rs/s640/math%2Bboxes.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<u><b>Tip #3</b></u></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
My last tip will help you organize dismissal. I love my ribbon display chart because the kids can easily move their name when their transportation changes. And...we all know that transportation changes happen often!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Chevron-and-Chalkboard-Transporation-Labels-Editable-764359" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="356" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-kfgv4_muvkA/VbulP3TjfHI/AAAAAAAAD94/3IcbYod33kw/s640/display%2Bpic.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I have them in 8 different color options to match your classroom decor.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Chevron-and-Chalkboard-Transporation-Labels-Editable-764359" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-9tGgbZaHwN8/VbulNVh1qyI/AAAAAAAAD9w/AnrwewS-Nrk/s640/color%2Boptions.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
This upcoming school year will be a big milestone year for me as a teacher. This year will be my tenth year of teaching. It seriously doesn't seem like I've been in the classroom that long! It's totally true though...time flies when you are having fun!</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
When I first started teaching, I taught PreK and I was ALL about the primary colors and polka dots. My main color was blue. I kept my colors the same for several years, just to keep things easier. When I started teaching second grade three years ago, I decided it was time for a change. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7KTiZOoSzK4/VbZgiW3yCLI/AAAAAAAADuU/CRIQDLw7Elo/s1600/IMG_1639.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7KTiZOoSzK4/VbZgiW3yCLI/AAAAAAAADuU/CRIQDLw7Elo/s640/IMG_1639.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Even though I changed my colors, I still had bits of primary colors spread throughout my classroom. I just had spent too much money to change everything! So in comes my new best friend...spray paint!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-GCBZ7nK3Cj4/VbZiPX9cXkI/AAAAAAAADu4/Bgs_CCnvgEA/s1600/IMG_1638.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-GCBZ7nK3Cj4/VbZiPX9cXkI/AAAAAAAADu4/Bgs_CCnvgEA/s640/IMG_1638.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I'm in LOVE with this seaside color! I used it to paint my rocking chair and metal book bin tub a couple of years ago. I just needed to make sure that I got the spray paint that bonds to plastic. This is very important!</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-eUtmR3eU4E8/VbZjOoTvrhI/AAAAAAAADvI/LnjM5N0dh7o/s1600/IMG_1640.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-eUtmR3eU4E8/VbZjOoTvrhI/AAAAAAAADvI/LnjM5N0dh7o/s640/IMG_1640.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I washed the bins first and then they were ready for the first coat of paint. Make sure that you use a sweeping motion when you are spray painting for an even distribution of paint. I spray painted the bottom and sides of the tubs first. Then after they had dried, I flipped them over and spray painted the insides.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-tTmxM9bza60/VbZjzi3a4SI/AAAAAAAADvQ/szVQV02wxsQ/s1600/IMG_1643.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-tTmxM9bza60/VbZjzi3a4SI/AAAAAAAADvQ/szVQV02wxsQ/s640/IMG_1643.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
The most important part of the whole spray painting plastic process is to make sure that you let them dry overnight. This helps avoid chipping and the bins from sticking together.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-jK0NjUTK9PU/VbZkUS4Fc5I/AAAAAAAADvc/VFLV2TVdLBU/s1600/IMG_1645.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-jK0NjUTK9PU/VbZkUS4Fc5I/AAAAAAAADvc/VFLV2TVdLBU/s640/IMG_1645.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
And here is the finished product...</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Lyn7CVjvou8/VbZkluluAoI/AAAAAAAADvk/bO4Oyzz8Uos/s1600/IMG_1658.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Lyn7CVjvou8/VbZkluluAoI/AAAAAAAADvk/bO4Oyzz8Uos/s640/IMG_1658.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
My plan is to spray paint some more of my plastic bins this week. I also bought a black spray paint! Maybe I need to have a spray painting party....anyone want to join in?</div>
